Atmospheric phenomena: Halos
Halos are caused by reflection of sun light or moonlight on ice crystals. Depending on the shape of the ice crystals, their orientation and their rotation different types occur.
If internal reflection occurs, light is also refracted and split into colors due to dispersion. These types of halos are colored.
This section presents some halo observations mad with sky surveillance cameras.

For optimal viewing the monitor must be calibrated such that all shades of the gray scale are visible.
